How long does it take to get divorced? |

|
After you have filed for divorce, Texas requires a 60 day "cooling off period" before the final divorce decree. If you and your spouse are in agreement, the final decree can be filed on the 61st day. But in practice, the length of time will depend upon the court’s schedule, the degree of animosity between the parties, the contentiousness of the proceedings, etc.
